I am all about the underdog here at SAL…or at least trying to jump on bandwagons before most people. You may not know of Georgie James just yet, but you probably will. The D.C. duo just signed to uber-indie Saddle Creek. I am not a fan of bangs but Laura Burhenn might just change my mind.

I’ve had a crush on Maura for years now since I first saw her in Denali. All the girl’s bands are top notch and her voice will simply melt you.

Here’s another new feature. When I saw Broken Social Scene in October I was expecting to see Feist or Emily Haines sing the female parts. Instead, it was Lisa and I was mesmerized by her (and her hair). Gorgeous.
