A couple of weeks ago I posted tour dates for West Coast tour dates for John “Speedo” Reis’s latest project The Night Marchers. Being a huge fan of Speedo I was excited especially since The Night Marchers were accompanied by the southern, indie, noise rockers, The Colour Revolt. So in order to service our Rock and Roll needs and to escape triple digit temperatures my friend Charan and I took the short journey to lovely San Francisco.

The Hold Steady: Stay Positive

There are certain things that make you feel American. For example, complaining about slow service in French restaurants is one. Another maybe thinking Europeans really love Stella Artois. How about swearing soccer isn’t football but really soccer? A less embarrassing and offensive way is to rock out to the new Hold Steady.

Jukebox The Ghost: Let Live and Let Ghosts

At first listen Washington DC’s “Jukebox the Ghost” is a simple pop band comprised of piano, guitar and drums. They deliver a collection of palm muted guitar, backbeats and vocal hooks embellished with piano that reminds the listener of a Charlie Brown Holiday Special. Discussing only this, however, would cut the band way too short.
