Band Spotlight: The Reptilian

Who? The Reptilian

Where are they from? Kalamazoo, Michigan

What do they sound like? True to their name, The Reptilian slither their way through a brilliant mixture of noodly, mathy, screamy goodness. Dischordant yet remarkably melodic, The Reptilian hit you from about every angle imagineable. So if you like your song titles long and your music constantly pushing and pulling against itself, The Reptilian got something for you. Oh, and I’ll be working with these guys for Beartrap…stoked!

This is fuckin’ sweet. Sounds kind of like Native, but a bit more melodic at times, and gruff at others.

Having an EP called Boys Life can’t hurt, either.

We are very okay with being compared to some of our best friends Native. It’s funny because two of them are right up front in this picture of us.

Never listened to Sinaloa but definitely will now.

I’m just waiting for any of you — Reptilian, Native, Oceans — to play somewhere else other than Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan. Beat the cold - play Florida. I hear Tampa’s nice…
